Elves are everywhere, gnolls sometime even survive in anbennar, harimari are found all the way to Tianlou. +15 vassal acceptance also has some tricks where you feed + diplovassal allies earlier in a run, where doing so is still impactful. so you basically have infinite money I'll second Venail. The intro disaster is interesting if just a little tedious, but once thats done its kinda just… a whole lotta nothing. There I am, playing as the Ramsteel dwarves, Amldhir is locked down, the node is raking in 90 gold a month. Krak-dwarves are very rng dependent and can end up with blob neighbors before they leave the Anvil, Kanzad often require some merc cheese to defeat the goblin hordes, Seghdihr can get shafted by Jaddar early and a lot of their mechanics kinda handicaps them if you don't know what you're doing. This applies for both Dwarves and Goblins. The other formable is Aul-Dwarov, the kingdom of the all dwarves, once you control most of the Serpentspine. A fun, slightly challenging, but not too challenging nation would be Frozenmaw; you get to play as a genuine half-orc nation, with a Timurids-style vassal swarm, and experience a decent amount of colonial gameplay, though admittedly more in the style of Russia colonising Siberia than going into the Americas. You're advised to stick to monarchical government - this mod will work just fine if you're a republic or theocracy, but many mission trees will be blocked. How do have fun? The Kobolds of Dragoncoast (Redscale, Bluescale, and Greenscale) also have a tough start but have a really fun if kinda old MT. Mithradhum or any of the other holds are alot of fun though. Nothing to worry about. The Iron Hammers were one of the adventurer bands which moved into Escann following the Greentide, eventually settling in Inner Castanor. I peaced them out when they had like one province left and it was kinda a bummer. A little breakdown: Krakdûmvror: Most isolated dwarves (up north), centuries before it was a 'prisoner colony' (think The Wall of GoT) they have special Icy Mages and they aim to create a brand new Dwarven Empire, not reforming the old one, like every other dwarven kingdom. Don’t be afraid to restart early on, especially as Ovdal Kanzud, since the early game is the most dangerous for dwarves since you have no hope of handling the roaming warbands early on. Otherwise, most adventurer dwarves are the same, though I like Company of Duran Blueshield due to their great starting leader and easy access to forming three of the holds with mission trees. The disasters scales terribly if you expand too much, mechanically it's RNG dependent depending on how many AW centers flip to DP or how successful Dwarves are to begin with. If you want to form Castanor, anyone can work, but I personally recommend New Wanderers for pure modifier stacking. Finally, for tall gameplay either dwarves or gnomish hierarchy have great stuff. For the Serpent's Rot, either try to figure it out on your own (fun), or look at the spreadsheet (very easy to find). My only objection to it is that you're not undergrowth goblin (although this is easily fixed through culture conversion) and so can't form the underkingdom, which seems like a natural thematic progression (also great ideas and peak goblin The beginnings ot the MTs are all visible at the start, but to start progressing through any MT you need to core, repair, and settle with dwarves an appropiate hold.
